Penguins

Penguins are found in the southern hemisphere,most Antartica the emperor penguin is the largest of these species.These are aquatic birds, which cannot fly.There a few species that are found in the temperate zone,like the Galapagos Penguins,as well.The most fascinating quality about Penguins is that they tend to live half of their lives in the chilly waters of the ocean and the other half on icy land.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Penguins can spend up to 75% of their lives in the water.They do all of their hunting in the water.their prey can be found within 60 feet of the surface,so Penguins have no need to swim in deep water.They catch prey in their beaks and swallow them whole as they swim .Some species only leave the water for motting and breeding.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       During the breeding season,some species from large groups,that include thousands from penguins,each Penguins has a distinct call,allowing individuals to find their mate and their chicks even in large groups.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Various depending on the species, though most breed during spring and summer.Various from 1 month 66 days depending on the species king and emperor penguins lay one egg.All other species lay two eggs.
